Another French offering today, a Lebem pointer date, with manually adjustable bezel for day of the week. Which I, erm, don't usually adjust ... and I can't see the date either.
It's in French anyway, so no-one would notice. And fingers crossed another 'French' watch - actually a Bulova with a day-of-the-week pointer en Francais - will be here to keep his Gallic chums company this time tomorrow.
Another one of my way too many examples of British pin-levers, this time in the form of a seldom-seen Guildhall from the (presumably) short-lived Guildhall Watch & Clock Co Ltd, based at 58 Houndsditch, London. Dating from the 1950s and all too obviously made for them by the original Newmark outfit in Croydon, as well as running on the agricultural 0j Newmark 13''' calibre.
I see that there were some posts 10 years ago from a few Guildhall-owning members, the only one of whom I can detect as still "active" being our esteemed @mach 0.0013137, who may or may not be considered as fit and proper company for a sensitive soul like me to be keeping.
Still this clunker. Looking forward to something older lighter and more interesting. This is a sort of ok modern daily beater. What all watches should honestly beable to achive for 200 quid. Sarb 33
