Rolex tudor omega investments

Recommended Posts

I have after 18 years just stopped paying child maintenance £200 p month. I want to put it into a watch as I am used to paying it. I would love a submariner but also know how hard they are to get. I am thinking the omega smp 300 or bb58. If I get the bb58 I will pay it off in 12 months. I also want a watch that will hold its value in case i need to upgrade or sell in future what do people recommend?

A no date sub was a couple of months wait when I asked about one before lockdown.... an AD won’t give you it on credit or discount but you’re not gonna lose any money money on it. Or forgetting Rolex go pre owned and let someone else take the depreciation hit.

Tudor and omega will only hold their value if you buy at the right price in the first place....basically don’t get it on finance...walk in prepared to pay the full amount and you can haggle 20% off most watches...that takes out any depreciation that you get once the watch is second hand.

....Rolex is more investor friendly however don’t just buy a watch for investment, buy the one you like. In reality when you factor in service costs etc, watches aren’t great investments.....you’re better off buying stocks or investing your money elsewhere.

As above if you want a Rolex from an AD you have to pay in full, you may get finance from a local jeweller but at that point the cost of finance outstrips any investment gain anyway.

If I could get a rolex at list a sub or air king I would go with that. I do like the blue omega seamaster on bracelet or tudor bb58 I know the seamaster is around £3300 new on chrono 24 and the bb58 is £2900 a hard choice. Key thing is residual as I will change in future
