Morning,

Today this aluminium-cased  Chrisfer, probably from the 1950s and French-made by an unknown maker. It’s a brand of which I’ve only ever seen one other example which belonged, as it happens, to a long-gone member of TWF who had only ever seen his own one, despite being an avid collector of French vintage watches.

Today’s obscurity runs on an odd 16j Lorsa 652 and is incredibly accurate over its power reserve of more than 53 hours, all from such an unprepossessing pin lever movement. Quite remarkable.

Regards.

Cheap and cheerful today. Just been on my pre booked visit to the local refuse tip where the current recycling strategy has been totally abandoned and it’s now basically broken down to a choice between bulky or not bulky non recyclable waste.

I always admired the linen dial and sleek lines of this Vitessa when @Tazmo61 posted it on WRUW, so when I saw he was selling it, I jumped on it straight away. The brand has disappeared into the mist and, to add to the puzzle, the French Parrenin Z170 is stamped "Swiss GH", which Google has failed to explain. Someone here must know.
