Morning, I know a storm is coming, but this lasted over 100 yrs so far, so I'll chance it.  Car goes in the shop today, so a little perambulation is on the cards to pick up the spare.

It didn't look in such good shape when it arrived, the celluloid crystal was much yellower than it appears in this pic ...

And the hands were quite corroded.

So I was thrilled twice with this watch, once when it arrived all original, and once when it arrived after a bit of renovation.

Silver cased Demier Fr. 1918

I probably won't wear it outside my rain jacket ...

Strap from Vintagewatchstraps.

Morning,

Today this 36mm Mestril auto from the 1950s with its commendably accurate 25j Felsa 1560 and slightly awkward female spring bars.

Per Mikrolisk, this brand was first registered by Henri Weiss & Co (White Star Watches) in 1954 and then again in 1974 by Cavadas Serafim & Filhos Ltd of Portugal, coincidentally the country from where I bought this one.

Regards.

Panda from August 1988, with a bust pusher at 2oclock....it fell out so i superglued it in. Still tells the time right and goes ring a ding when i set the alarm. So i bought it a horween tannery shell cordovan....which er cost more than the watch. On wards and upwards. Ignore the penguin it followed me home last night.

It does! Get an elastic band and wear it like a hat and tell the wife you are scott of the front room. She will be well impressed. Then go and stand at the front door and say "im going out for another watch and i might be some time".
