I hope I'm not the only one lol but does all that's going on with Covid just make you wanna spend a crazy amount on a watch to make yourself feel better. I know opening up the box to a new watch would truly make me feel so much happier. However I don't feel comfortable spending large amounts of money on watches online as when I'm in store I always feel I'm getting the best fit to my tastes however online i feel i could be missing that last watch the shop assistant brings out that makes you feel like a child at Christmas. Am I the only one that feels like this? if not have any of you found a way around that?

I’ve found that online takes away a lot of what you get when you visit the AD, beyond that you don’t get to build that relationship and the discount that go with it, when you order online you are just a packing number for someone in a distribution centre :(

Not that it’s stopped me, I still bought 5 watches last year and with my eye on a 2021 Speedy it’s possible I’ll pull the trigger before we are out of lockdown.

No problem buying online from a proper bricks and mortar dealer. Try and avoid Ebay unless the same applies or the watch is of lowish value. Check return policy in case you don't bond with the watch or it isn't as described.

I feel safe enough buying online but to me the whole experience feels dulled. I just like the feeling as the clerk brings out watch after watch instead of navigating around the pages. I had spoken to a local jeweller and they offered to do a virtual walk round showing me the individual watches and that way I could more accurately describe what I wanted. what do yous think of this idea?

Personally i`ve never bought a watch online, not because of anything like security concerns etc, just the fact i` like to see first hand and up close what im getting.

Not just with watches but with many other things i like to go into a shop an deal with people, look at stuff up close, touch it feel it etc, i have bought stuff online but nothing like a watch and nothing expensive.

I like to go into an AD to try one on but hate the small talk chit chat with the sales assistant. Get in, get out, get on the internet and buy second hand is my approach!
