Thinking of changing strap on my IWC top gun. What do you think would look best? Colour /make if possible

What is the lug width?

Haveston canvas grey pull through strap, has the adjustable sliding keeper.

Good shout, I got a pull-through canvas strap with a floating keeper, and realised that I could release the fixed keeper on one of my NATO straps (because the spacing was too large between the keepers) by unpicking  a couple of stitches with an X-Acto blade.  Still keeping it captive, though.

Now you've gone and got me thinking, all the NATO straps that I have abandoned to a life of darkness in a box could be freed.

But not the heat-welded ones.

Anyway @chocko, pull-through might be good, single pass RAF style (ie no loop) on brown leather, brandy perhaps, or possibly London tan, give it a classic feel, two leather keepers, one fixed one floating, made to measure by Vintagewatchstraps, who can take into account the path length between the lugs.   You would need 2mm between the bars and the case.   If the bars are not fixed, don't pull a leather strap through - take the bars out, fit the strap across the back roughly where you want it to sit, press a spring bar in, and gently position the watch head exactly where you want it on the strap, and press the last bar in.  Avoids ruching the leather finish, if the gap is tight, as you pull it through.  Make sure you have a spare spring bar or two in case one flies.  God knows how but I always find mine, touch wood.

p.s. here are a couple of mine, the 'sepia' strap has metal keepers, I fit the watch at one end of the strap and buckle it at the side, like a NATO.  The blue has leather keepers and I buckle it under the wrist, like a normal person.

I got the bund from Italy separately.

I think London tan would be good for your flieger though, although not see the colour in the flesh, it the hide, as it were.

Thanks, I had a guess at that, the first two watches I showed above are both 22mm as well.

I have a 22mm grey Nylon NATO coming in special order any day now - CWC sell one but not their own brand, so tried to source something in a similar material elsewhere.  If you go NATO, think about the hardware though - this is  22mm soft leather with black PVD hardware:

Remember soft is not the same as strong - the Vintagewatchstraps bands have sewn in buckles, and double thickness of quality leather.  Mine have been moved around several watches and still look good, even though they have been 'distressed' where fitted to sharp cases.  Anyway here's the thinner softer straps off eBay.
