I am developing a liking for gold watches....vintage gold watches in particular. Gold cases, gold straps - whatever!

You mean real gold, real gold is fine, but every time i think of gold watches i think of those i used to see in catalogues years ago...all gold `coloured` with a black face and a diamond at number twelve, still, they do say the 70`s was the decade that style forgot.:tongue:

My late Fathers watch, this has been serviced  and fitted with Green Croc strap.

I have given the watch to my Wife , she adores it ..

Before anyone comments on my Wife’s large hairy wrist , I posed for the Pics :teethsmile:

Yes, it is a lovely watch.

Not my most valuable timepiece but certainly my most precious.  It was a gift from my parents to mark a significant birthday in 1972 (dedication on case back).

It was this very watch that started my interest in horology all those years ago.

theres some lovely watches in this thread,i do love a bit o'bling.when i first started collecting watches i collected gold dress watches and have quite a few,but nowhere near as many as Jonbaz:notworthy: ,my favorite of these is this 36mm 9ct longines on a 18ct bracelet....KWfhgfr.jpg
