I am pleased to see that dial layout for the ETA 251.264 - I was hoping to upgrade my Squale from the non-thermo-compensated 251.262 (it's about 30 yrs old now and has developed an extra 'click' in the stem).  But looking at this .264 from Certina, below, the sub-dial at 2 is a minutes recorder  (which had put me off the swap).

I assume this means that the layout can be customised - this from Eta:  “The PowerDrive technology integrated into all these movements controls the motor drive and increases the speed of rotation of the hands on the dial to 200 Hz, that is to say 200 hand jumps per second. It offers the manufacturer a great deal of freedom in the display combinations."

What I liked about the Squale layout was precisely the big 'centre minutes' counter, so it looks like there is an upgrade route after all.  Pity I gave it to my son ... and even worse that it is his favourite, I was thinking I might use the old "Oh, you won't be wanting that old thing any more, will you?" trick  :laughing2dw:

Oh, and, great watch from CW!

I’ll be accompanied by my Lacorda today.  Recorded in Mikrolisk with maker “Unknown” but seemingly this was a French-made brand by Eric Weil (uncle of Raymond Weil) who, although German by birth, became a French citizen in 1945.

Today’s effort runs on a 15j AS 1123/24.

Good morning all [emoji41]

Another rummage in a watch box found Henry a TK Maxx special. [emoji16]

I miss TKMaxx, for the odd bargain - these are ridonkulous at full RRP, but at TKMaxx with a red sticker, pretty solid (from the guy who built Fossil):

May be an image of wrist watch and text that says "60 60 55 70 12 SHIN OLA 6 10 iurluude m 20 2 30 50 313WAHว 98 Argonite-5021 5021 DETROIT 8 90 4 100 08 150160 140 120 120 130 110"
