For The Love of German Watches

So, a couple of years ago I asked on this very forum about Bauhaus style watches as I’d been looking at Junkers, etc. but never actually made a purchase.

In a recent thread about white dials, the Marc & Sons Marine watch was mentioned but unfortunately they are all sold out otherwise I’d have one in my possession right now.

I AM going to buy myself a nice German model and currently am looking at the following 3 watches

Junghans Max Bill

Junghans Chronoscope

Stowa Marine

Now, it has to be sub £1k.

Are there any other similar watches you can recommend I consider first?

Cheers all!

I have two out of the three you are looking at, and a bit of a thing for German watches, so can make some suggestions.

My two from your list are the Junghans Max Bill, and Stowa Marine. Both are very nice watches, but the Stowa calls to me rather louder and gets far more wrist time.

Beyond your list, from my personal experience, I would also add:

Union Glashütte Panoramadatum
Stowa Seatime
Stowa Flieger
Nomos Orion

All were inside your budget, except the Nomos which was £1,150. All were bought secondhand.

What’s it like to live with a Meistersinger I wonder. I’m liking those though!

Easy. Initially you can tell the time accurately to the nearest five minutes. Once you get really used to it (and your eyesight is good enough) you can judge to the nearest minute.

Worth shopping around as there are deals to be had.
