Citizen 6100-845536, bought from @Iceblue as a non-runner. With a new battery and a bit of fiddling I managed to coax it back to life. Serial number leaves a wide range of options for date, but I guess 1985. Screwdown crown and 10bar water resistance originally, but I won't be putting it anywhere near water now. Good result, I like it a lot.

Also a good opportunity to play with the USB microscope I bought.

Morning,

Today it’ll be a run out for a rarely-seen brand, this German-made Soto Fleetmaster, the only example which I’ve ever met in the wild. This one dates from the 1950s and was made by August Felss of Pforzheim, as identified by the “bird on the branch” logo on the case back.

It runs on a 21j ETA 1093 but regrettably I can tell you not a single wurst about Herr Felss or whether he had any connection to Otto and Julius Felss who, in 1905, founded the Felss Group, originally for metal-working equipment and also based in Pforzheim.

Regards.

New arrival - came in yesterday. One of those watches where you pop it in your Amazon wish list and just watch the price drop down, and down, and down, and down. Started off at about £160, when it got down to £70 I finally buckled. Iron Annie - seems appropriate, doing the ironing this morning:
