Seasonal watches...and blue dials

Recommended Posts

Now that the days are getting longer and (hopefully) spring and summer weather are on the way, I tend to wear my usual favourites less, and turn to my little collection of blue dials.

Christopher Ward C65 Trident Diver (hand wound): I bough this retro-style diver when it was a fairly new model back in 2018. I've always liked the size (just over 40mm) and the nice relaxed vibe. It has become a real favourite for summer. I have a camel leather strap for it, but the bracelet is just brilliant (QR and 5-position adjustment on the clasp).

MeisterSinger Metris: I bought this as a holiday watch, but it hasn't seen real action yet. Really looking forward to taking it away as a "one-watch" for trips. Super-cool, wears a bit bigger than its 38mm size, and really easy to use when the odd minute doesn't matter. I have a variety of interesting QR straps for it, but it looks brilliant on this blue/orange CW hybrid. I'll probably get a blue Cordovan for evening wear on holiday.

Finally my blue Orient Mako, that I've had for years - it has been on this nice Hirsch Tiger for a long time. It has done lots of holidays, hikes, camping trips and beater work.

So...my blue collection posing with a favourite holiday shirt.

Do you have a seasonal watch habit?

And of course, let's see your blue dials! :beach:

So sad....

32 watches, all boxed, all in rude health.

All gone to new homes.

I can feel an outing for this Timex coming on - same model as my very first 'grown-up' watch, when I was 11 or so.  p.s. the dial is blue, not burgundy - it's like that flippin' dress ...

No photo description available.

and I wore this a yesterday ...

What a gorgeous looking watch that is. I've a chequered history with C Ward but I missed out on one of those because the seller wouldn't wiggle a bit on the (already reasonable) price.

Curse my stubborn streak...

Nothing seasonal for me I'm afraid, and as you all know, I never take any watch on holiday. Do have some blue dials, though...
Seiko 'Sawtooth' with sunburst 'blue wave' dial...

Omega SMP 2231.80 with electric blue dial.

Citizen blue 'Orca'.

And some that have now gone on to pastures new...
Not a good pic, but I did once have a blue Majestyk LED (and a red...)

Rare blue Seiko 5 'Sea Urchin'.
Seiko 'Sea Urchin' SNZF13J1

Seiko 'The Great Blue', part of a very limited range and not often seen. The blue dial had a 'sparkly' effect which shimmered under the sun or bright lights.

Seiko 'Dancing hands'.
Seiko 6M23-6000 'Dancing Hands'.

Seiko 'Samurai' limited edition 'Blue Lagoon'. Hated this and moved it on within a day of receiving it.
Seiko Samurai 'Blue Lagoon' Limited Editon.

Seiko SKX009. Very deep blue, almost black dial.

Perhaps I should start a yellow watches thread? :hmmm9uh:

Can't have a seasonal watch habit without seasons!

We have degrees of heat followed by monsoon.

But I do have blue dialled watches.

There's a blue textured dial in the next one, but you have to look!
