Spork today.

Wardrobe change as I have a meeting that my normal uniform of t-shirt and shorts won't work for (the pleasures of being an accountant working out of a shed in the garden) so dressed up with my birthyear ('77) datejust.

Morning,

Retailed by Mackay & Chisholm, long-gone jewellers and watchmakers of Edinburgh whose name can still be faintly seen on the dial.

This one would have left their premises, by then at 56-57 Princes Street, in its shiny and new “Rustless Steel” case in the 1930s although the wire lugs have seen some less than sympathetic repairs over the past 90 years or so.

Today’s effort runs on a 15j Stauffer Peercee movement whose keyless works confirm it to be a modified and early version of the 10.5’’’ Eterna 600 calibre.

Regards.
