Tag Heuer F1 - Crown won't screw down

Question

Hi all

I have a Tag Heuer F1 from c2012, which I want to part ex. My potential issue is that the crown doesn't screw down, it just pops back up again. You still need to pull it further out for the time/date setting positions, but it's clearly not as it should be.

Does anyone know if this is an easy fix? I may just take the hit on the part/ex price if so.

A quick google suggests this is a fairly common issue, and is a bit of a faff to fix. Sounds like I'll have to just take the knock to the part/ex price offered.

It will knock the price, but also limit the number of buyers. It might be better to fix first.

True. It was £975 new and so if Tag need to fix it, it might not even be worth it. :(

That's not necessarily true. It could have doubled in price.

A tag dealership will give you an evaluation and a cost to fix it. Give them a visit.

I had the same problem with a Rolex gmt2. I took it into the repair centre in knightsbridge and they fixed it free while I waited. It turned out to be dirt under the crown. Maybe pull out the crown and give the gap between it and case.
