Garden Intruders

The flowers have a nice fragrance, but it is a poisonous plant, if you have young children or animals around make sure they don't ingest it. They can also spread quickly via underground rhizomes as well as by seeds and can take over a bed if you aren't careful

It's the spreading I'm worried about. I'm keeping them under very close surveillance.

If you're worried about the plants spreading, dig them up and put in a container to keep them under control. The scent of Lily of the Valley, (Convallaria majalis) is quite delightful, so it would be a shame to get rid of them completely, especially as they were 'free'.
