Morning,

It’s not the 25j ETA 2454 auto powering this 1960s Onsa which is unusual, it’s more the fact that it’s in a steel case, which Onsa rarely used and for which I can forgive some discolouration on this one’s dial.

Their commercial tie-ups and flamboyant marketing campaigns were many, varied and “out there”. For these reasons I’ve always been quite partial to the brand which nowadays is probably largely forgotten.

Regards.

Another from my small French collection, the lyrically named Codhor with its 17J Antichoc-protected SEFEA 50. The CODHOR brand was registered on September 14, 1978 by Cooperative d'Achats des Horlogers. The company was based in the La Défense district of Paris with a small workshop in Maîche.

Sure I have seen some nice looking old divers watches bearing the name.

Although I'll be honest, I assumed most of them were older than 1978, must have just been well worn.

1 day on and still loving its simplicity, it's military styling, wears very well. Best of all everything lines up, so bonus.

Really like the bezel edge.

You do have some stunning watches that really are to my taste.

I've already decided that I would like @yokel to be my forum father, maybe you could be Uncle Jim?

Yes, I've seen the divers too and most of them are pretty rough. The trademark I found is a bit vague, it's possible it was a renewal of an early registration. This advert is claimed to be from 1968.
