Omega geneve sub second 1962

Recommended Posts

hi all

wondering if anyone could give me some details on gramps watch I’ve been given guardianship of. he was given it as a reward in a sales job many years ago I believe. Have had it serviced and given a new glass. Needs a new strap. Could anyone also guide on where I might find something that suits.

Has original box and certificates. See images. Was bought 1962. Movement number is 17499316. Is 9ct Geneve sun second face I believe. Has EL969 and 29T on the original receipt and etched underneath the logo. Has a red  original box and various markings on inside of the back of it.  On the back it says A.L.D think that’s the maker Dennison?

Then 969
Then 62879

any info about it would be great. Would love to know more about it!

Apologies. I couldn’t add images but there are links to the pics of it. Hope someone can help.

The movement is a 268 Calibre I believe also.

Looks like the movement is from 1959 wit 17xxx ref. Finding out more about Dennison cases. Hope someone can shed more light.

I've tried to work out the case hallmark. It really isn't clear, but on the basis it's a leopard's head and letter C it could be London 1958.

I have my Omega on a Hirsch Osiris strap and just swapped the original buckle onto it.
