Is this Verge Fusee Passing Strike Mechanism Original?

Recommended Posts

Hi there

Might anyone be able to tell me if this Passing Strike mechanism is original to this verge fusee movement?

Additionally, does anyone know what the holes (circled in red in the second photo) are for?

Many thanks to anyone that can help, and thank you for taking the time to read this

The holes are probably mounting holes. All four pillars seem to have them.
Depending on the type of case the bottom pillars are sometimes fastened to a wooden base using these holes. They just made all four pillars the same.

Hi Roy

Thank you so much for responding. I was thinking if those holes may have corresponded to the original placement of a passing strike mechanism, if indeed it ever had one.
