New Watch Company On Kickstarter.

Recommended Posts

Anyone looking to buy a new Watch from a new Watch company then look no further.

Version two of the Exciton is now live on Kickstarter.

I have the version one which I received in January this year and the quality is astounding.

V 1: Spec:

All Stainless Steel construction 38mm 20mm lug width

Screw down crown which is signed

Polished case back with conversion table

Sapphire crystal

BGW9 Lume

Brushed ceramic bezel insert with rotating bezel which is precise.

Miyota 9015 Auto movement

Waffle rubber strap

200m water resistance

Two year warranty

All I can say is that the version one lived up to my expectations and then some.

Version two has some improvements, but rather than me bang on take a look at the video below.

I am going to buy the version two, and already made the pledge.

Forgot to ad some pictures of mine, here you go.

Both the original and the Mk II seem to be respectable divers in the classic mould, which might be unoriginal but rarely fails to please when the price is reasonable and the quality excellent.

I just wonder, dear @PC-Magician, which one will give you the most pleasure - the Mk I or the new Mk II - and I hope you will let us know your conclusions when you have the new watch to compare with the original.:)

I will indeed make further posts, I suspect the MK1 as it was in limited numbers and case back marked to show this.

Not visible in my picture.

It has subtle design features that can be missed to the untrained eye.

Like the cartoon fonts? Even the name is appalling – the Exciton 200. It sounds like a sex toy

No not called the Exciton 200 just Exciton, I have no idea about sex toys, I will leave that to the experts .

Legible fonts nothing cartoonish at all.

Do you know what an exciton is, let me help.

I have seen and handled this Exciton. It’s a fine watch albeit in traditional diver style..attention to detail with the dial ,crown and lugs is excellent.
as always , taste ,especially in watches, Is down to the individual.

Personally I think it’s a fine looking watch and £210 for a Miyota 9015 is good value. Can’t say I’m that keen on the name - but then again it does get your attention and obviously creates a talking point.

I hope it gets funded - although personally this isn’t something I’m after at the moment.

James is the designer and also a scientist, works with lasers all day, that aexplains where the name comes from.

How prescient  of me

I have some great ideas for names of hurricanes, I think they need jazzing up a bit. :crazy5vh:

Scotland had its very own.. hurricane "Bawbag" which has an interesting translation. Considering the damage it did, that was the nice name we gave it in the newspapers, the other name we gave it also began with a 'B' but this is a family forum and I'm sure you can use your imagination.

Edit.. If you want a laugh, Google "hurricane bawbag"

I have a real hard time understanding how microbrands like these survive when there are no particular uniqueness. Just outsourced standard design marked with a logo? Makes no sense to me but happy to see it got funded though

Complete new design by James, and the bracelet is a work of art.

This may help you understand.

Actually this may be better to understand it.
