Let’s Build A Watch

Recommended Posts

Excellent post but not as easy as you make it look. I once tried and managed to take a few tiny screws out but no chance of getting them back in. I admire people like you that can accomplish such delicate work.

Fascinating! Thanks for sharing. I could never do that in a million years.

I've tried with a few, could never get the seeing6 of the hands correct and usually wound up bending the seconds hand trying to get it on, or scratched through the cellophane and onto the dial while trying. Finally gave up on the idea and resorted to commissioning others to do what I want. Much easier now, just gotta make the extra few hundred to pay for the work. Easy peesy!

I like that , very nice . Thanks for sharing . Is it a must to have the correct tooling for making your own watch . I can see you have a press for pressing on the hands . Could this be done manualy .

Thanks

Don

You can use hand press tools, but the tool I use is not expensive and gives more control.

@PC-Magician after reading your post and seeing your photos I felt inspired to build a watch myself. Luckily I had all the parts required for the build apart from a watch case , I managed to source a case which arrived this morning. I will admit I felt very nervous trimming down the stem.

I put a "thanks" emoji because there was not one for a "round of applause" or a "I wish I was half as talented".

Well done that man, I would have helped you out if you needed another stem.
