SUNDAY OLD WATCHES (made pre-1990)

Recommended Posts

Ladies crown wind and pin set pocket watch, worn by my wife. As most women would have worn them, she has it on a 'longuard' or 'muff' chain round her neck. It's very small, only 30mm across and there is no makers name anywhere on it.

PW, Ladies crown wind, pin set.

With the chain.

Compared to a 50p coin.

These arrived yesterday so this is the first picture that was taken. They are now in various states of repair/disrepair and need some TLC

1940's H.F. Bauer 16 Jewel (German watch with in-house movement)

1960's Simex 17 Jewel (French Lorsa 652 Movement)

Thanks to @spinynormanand @Karruselfor help with the Simex

I think they will both be handsome watches when they are cleaned up.

Have a great Sunday guys!

Sorry about the photo quality, it doesn't do either watch any justice.

I'm not actually wearing this one but I do have it in a collection. I know absolutely nothing about it other than the fact that I bought it on flea bay , on a whim. It has a key and Was initially able to make it work but all of a sudden it stopped. Now any help would be most welcome ie as to make, year etc but whether I get it back to working order?. I might take a look at it over the winter months when I'll be spending more hours indoors.

Can I ask - how long haveyou been collecting watches?  I  am fascinated everyday by the different watches you put on display.
I have visited Scotland and stayed near to where I believe you live.

If I am ever there again can we meet ?

I can`t remember when I started to collect watches (I  had previously collected old cameras) but I joined TWF in 2005. As to meeting up maybe, but it would have to be after the Covid threat has past
