It will surprise no one to read me state, "I don't understand watches", but this watch is the reason why I know that I don't understand watches.

I don't like Sub styled divers, I like skin diver inspired divers.

A diver should be at least 40mm, any smaller the bezel makes the crystal too small.

I'll always pick Mechanical over quartz.

With an RRP of £250, a watch can't be particularly special.

Mercedes hands ain't great.

These are all rules I have come to hold true over my time collecting....

So why have I fell in love with a sub styled, 39mm, quartz worth peanuts with merc hands and a gmt function that allows you to set it entirely separate to the actual time?

It should be rubbish but it makes my wrist happy and I can't for the life of me understand why!

That's the great thing about watches, sometimes the enjoyment derived from owning and wearing a watch is completely out of proportion to the cost and specification of the watch.

I broadly agree with your rules, but it does look pretty good

Newmark is on the left, but this Poljot called shotgun for today's trip to the hill.

That's right up my street!  So many different permutations and combinations with Ball watches, hard sometimes to find the perfect combo, but that nails it.
