Given other thread on here I am surprised there is no mention of GO

Here I am

The most elegant GO is (IMHO) the simple no-date Senator  --  which could be an option. Certainly love mine; understated to perfection.

Another option you could look at would be the Zenith Elite/Captain range.

From the options originally given, the JLC (notwithstanding the date) takes it for me.

As it seems to be de rigueur to include Youtubage in this thread . . . . . .

To the average man in the street he’d probably go for this

The name sounds posh and it would be well within his budget. Each to their own at the end of the day. Anyway where does anyone get to attend a function nowadays where a dress watch would be required? Cruises are still a rarity, large social events are almost non existent so who really cares what watch an individual would be wearing?

Way out of my league but this is very, very nice -

Vacheron Constantin Saltarello Jump Hour Retrograde in white gold ref 43041 - only 200 made - there is one up for auction at Sotherby's Hong Kong at the moment which is currently sitting at 240,000 HKD (£23k), you have 12 hours to put your bids in.

Gosh  --  this is exactly what tends to happen to me.

The originally set economic parameters (IIRC £5-7.5k) get blown away when shiny things show up  :ooops:
