Vintage Driva Watch

Basically had my dad Driva watch repaired a few years ago and on its recent service the Watch repairers said there are no more parts available for this watch.    Seen one on eBay which is not in good condition but seller says it still works.   Anyone have any advice about buying from eBay, what questions should I ask.   Does the condition really matter.

All you want is the movement, so if that is working and keeps good time, the rest doesn't really matter. Obviously you might suspect that a watch in bad cosmetic condition would have had a hard life, but if your watchmaker is just going to rob it for parts, that may not matter either. I assume you are using a proper watch repairer, not a well known high street shoemaker, or even a chain jeweller.
