I'm trying to write a RLT history page to put on the web site with PICTURES showing the original RLT Retail shop and some press cuttings if I can find them.

It's hard writing about yourself when you can bearly remember what happend yesterday.

This is all I have managed up to now. :

RLT Repair Workshop was opened in 1986/87 by myself after seven years of working in a retail Jewellers and training in repairs and retail jewellery and watch sales.

We started from a small shop where I hand made specially commisioned high class jewellery and watches.

As well as selling vintage and new jewellery and watches.

In 1992/93 we were one of the biggest collectable Swatch watch outlets in the North of England.

In 1998/99 we started dealing in watches on the internet where we specialised in Accutron watches for a while and sold watch to and did repairs for Max Hetzel ( the inventor of the Accutron ) and his daughter Barbara Young-Hetzel.

2002 saw us leave our retail outlet to concentrate totally on selling watch over the internet.

I do not know what else to add, as most dealers have had other jobs up until the internet taking off.

It must be so hard for anyone to believe that there is a watch dealer on the internet that has been selling watches for over 20 years and not just 5. wink.gif

Haven't written a CV for a while Roy?? You are too modest ... wink.gif If I was new to the site something like this would grab my interest huh.gif

My name is Roy Taylor … blah blah blah ….

I started in the watch and jewellery business in 1980 working for retail jewellers where I trained in watch repairs as well and sales. In 1987 I took the plunge and opened the RLT Repair Workshop in a small premises in East Yorkshire, England. Here as well as selling jewellery and new and vintage watches we also specialised in exclusive bespoke jewellery and watches.

Within two years we were one of the biggest collectable Swatch watch outlets in the North of England and rapidly establishing our reputation. In the late 1980's we identified the potential of the internet and in 1998 we sold our first watches from our web site. Initially we specialised in the famous Accutron electric watches even selling to and doing repairs for Max Hertzel the inventor of the Accutron movement and his daughter Barbara Young-Hertzel.

With the growth of our internet business we decided to leave the retail premises in 2002 and concentrate exclusively on selling over the web.

Today RLT Watches is one of the most trusted names in watches on the internet selling a wide range of vintage and modern Swiss, Russian and American watches as well as our own exclusive range of RLT Watch Co. models.

Very good JoT - I take it you have arranged a fee? wink.gif

The only other thing I would add to that it maybe a bit about your own tastes or personal favourites in watches, Roy - I alawys like to see a bit about that in a dealer's history section.

And maybe emphasise the vintage Seiko aspect a little more.

Your too modest most of the time Roy.

Things like your servicing of watches that you sell, putting on new crystals, regulating etc etc barely gets a mention on your sales pages.

You should blow your own trumpet a bit more IMHO.

I don't want to sell too many, wink.giflaugh.gif
