After decades of wonder since reading about tuning fork watches in my dad's horology books, I finally have one courtesy of the bay of evil...

And at least with this one I don't have to make the difficult choice about which watch is going to have to loose winder privileges!

I was always impressed by the descriptions in the watch books I read while growing up, and now I can fully appreciate the immense technological leap from 8 Hz to 300 Hz (or 360 Hz). Just the process to manufacture such fine index wheels and pallets staggers me. Don't know how they ever managed to do that on a production scale...

Maybe not quite the character of a nice 8bps mechanical movement, but you've got to love that mosquito-esque buzzing!
