G-Shock No Sound- Alarm Springs Needed!

Recommended Posts

So I bought a G-shock GW-M5600-1ER from another forum.

All looks great, but no sound. At all. No beep on mode change, start/stop stopwatch, and no alarm/ signal. Nothing.

Starting to worry, but head over to the G-shock forum, and a helpful post leads me to a fix.

In a Casio, there is a small spring that joins the module to the caseback, to amplify/ enable the sounds. When batteries are changed, these often get lost and this is what happened to mine. My example is a solar job, but the module had been swapped and this is when the spring went.

I found this very useful video:

In the 5600 there are actually 2 of these. One of mine was missing. It was suggested that the spring inside a standard spring bar would fit, and it did, once I'd opened one up. All fitted back together and... BEEP! All fixed!

So in case anyone else has a misbehaving G-shock, here's how to get it to beep once more.

Cheers,

Alex.

If anyone needs one of those springs, I have got a few spare. Free of charge, that probably goes without saying on here...
