Where To Buy Leather?

Recommended Posts

Where could I source some leather to stitch up a leather steering wheel cover for my car?

Have seen them on eBay and whilst they look ok I would enjoy making my own and want to tweak it a little for optimum fit.

I only want to make a couple so don't require industrial quantities.

Perhaps some of the strap makers might be able to advise where they source from?

(Suggestions for thickness / grade to source etc welcome as well)

Many thanks,

Rich.

I came here from a site where knives, sheaths and ancillary leather work is the theme and several suppliers are often used by the members there one is http://www.leprevo.co.uk/ another is Tandy. Both said to be helpful to newbies . You'll need to know what type of leather finish etc., you want to achieve in your own mind before you start looking.

Hope that helps

Or try Pittards in Yeovil, they make every glove known! The have a scrap/offcuts shop and it's cheap. I go past often if you know what you're looking for...
