Adjusting A Butterfly Clasp

Dear all,

I just picked up a cheap but actually nice quality SS bracelet from eBay. Links are solid, and the butterfly clasp action is pretty decent (all parts are forged, not pressed).

The trouble is that the only way I can see to adjust it is to remove/ replace links. Unfortunately (and typically), I am between sizes: link in too loose. Link out, too tight.

Any advice gratefully received!

I don't believe there is any micro adjustment possible with a butterfly clasp – you have to rely on half links.

One trick I learned on my travels though, was if the bracelet is too loose stick some strips of moleskin foot-plaster on the underside. It works a treat, but does leave a sticky residue:
